Mailchimp API

Transactional email will be sent using Mailchimp Transactional API:

Marketing list management will be done using Mailchimp Marketing API:

SDK:

  • Node SDK - use of SDK is not a requirement, but is at the discretion of the developer.

Transactional emails

All transactional emails are sent using /messages/send with the following parameters:

  • key - to be provided

  • message

    • html - content

    • subject - see below

    • from_email: see above

    • from_name: see above

    • to: user’s email

    • track_opens: false

    • track_clicks: false

    • auto_text: true

    • view_content_link: false

  • async: true

Marketing list management

When a user creates and account and checks “Receive periodic updates and promotional emails from FIO” the user is added to the marketing list using /lists/{list_id}/members/{subscriber_hash}:

  • Path

    • list_id: see above

    • subscriber_hash - The MD5 hash of the lowercase version of the list member's email address.

  • Body

    • email_address - users email address

    • status_if_new: subscribed

    • email_type: html

    • status: subscribed

    • timestamp_signup - The date and time the subscriber signed up for the list in ISO 8601 format.

Please remember that for your security FIO Dashboard Team does not have access to your password or your private keys. We cannot reset your password in case you forget it, like many website do. It is very important that you write down your password in a secure location.

You should also set-up Password Recovery, which will require you to set-up two secret questions and answers and send an email to you to access Password Recovery in the future. If you forget the password, you will be asked to click a link in the Password Recovery email and answer the secret questions. If you do not have access to the email or do not remember the secret answers, FIO Dashboard Team will not be able to reset your password and you will not be able to access the FIO Dashboard.

Expiring Domains

 

  • A FIO domain has reached a 30 day window until date of expiration

  • A domain has expired - Date of expiration to day 30

  • A domain has expired - Day 30 to Day 90

  • A domain has expired - Day 90+

Additional requirements:

  • Emails should be grouped by day by type, meaning a user should never received more than one email per type, e.g. max 1 email per day with “Your FIO domain is about to expire.”, 1 email per day with “Your FIO domain has expired.”. If more than one domain qualifies, include all domains in a single email.

  • Your FIO domain(s) are about to expire.

  • Your FIO domain(s) have expired.

  • Your FIO domain(s) have expired and will be burned.

  • Your FIO domain(s) and associated addresses have been burned.
