Usability test for Edge Wallet on 06/07/2021, using an iPhone SE 2016, iOS 14.6.
With every usability test, I do not use or search for the wallet’s how-to guides. I aim to figure out everything I need within the platform.
My first approach is to try using the FIO service (requests and send) in the wallet app immediately and see if the wallet can direct me to the right places to get started with those features.
Summary:
No notification or alert of incoming FIO requests.
Pending sent requests not shown in wallet transaction history, only shown under FIO Requests.
FIO Address called different things in Edge - At times referred to as Address, at other times as Name, other times as Domain.
Confusion on paying for FIO address vs creating a Free FIO address. The distinction between the two options is not clear enough.
FIO Request button on the Request page appears as another page tab, rather than its actual function as a ‘next button’.
Registering a FIO Address:
The process was a little bit confusing.
Potential Issues:
“Register a Free Address” button is overshadowed by “Next” button that appears after filling out form:
Mapping Crypto to FIO Address:
Very easy process.
Sending FIO Requests:
Easy process, but the request page could be significantly improved.
Potential Issues:
1. Request Page a bit Confusing:
2. Pending Requests not shown in Transaction History:
Accepting FIO Requests:
Easy process, but no alert/notification for incoming requests.
Potential Issues:
No notification or alert of incoming request:
Suggestion example:
Suggestion:
Have a notification icon on the side menu tab and on FIO Requests.
Would also be nice to have a banner alert while requests come during in-app use.
Have incoming FIO requests as part of Edge’s mobile push notifications.
Sending Funds with FIO Address:
Easy process and works as expected.
