Visual Identity/Website
Background
There was no formal process for designing our visual identity - as there was no previous agreement or work done on messaging or values prior to the launch of the Foundation (primarily, since Dapix did not want to heavily dictate to the future community on FIO). Assumedly, the community will lead a rebrand at some point without the necessary participation of the Dapix team.
Process
Logo and website were both designed from briefs submitted to 99designs. The internal group at Dapix voted amongst 3-5 selected logos and ultimately resulted in the existing “F” logo mark. This mark was further developed and Ideas By Nature in 2018 to reduce the number of colors and to formalize a brand style guide.
The website was redone with 2020 through a similar process of a community vote on designs presented on a Twitter poll (all designs were from 99designs). Ultimately, the final design was selected, refined, and developed/programmed into a WordPress theme by the marketing team at Dapix.
