FIO Marketing
At any given time, multiple individuals are working on various marketing and promotional activities for the FIO Protocol. While the goal is to encapsulate these activities within this single repository (which can be edited upon request), the nature of a distributed project is that many initiatives will occur without our knowledge, which we both encourage and support.
FIO is still in early stages of decentralization, so please be aware that many community empowerment tools and processes are not in place yet, and many components still operate under centralized control while we evolve.
How do I participate?
All marketing activities are defined into worker proposals - which falls into two broad categories:
Ongoing/Persistent Initiatives
One-time/As-needed Initiatives
Ongoing/Persistent Initiatives
Many marketing activities don’t have finite deliverables - such as a social media manager or community lead. These individuals are often brought into a variety of activities, potentially even outside of their worker proposal, and largely are committing to ongoing expertise and contributions with recurringly reported metrics.
One-time/As-needed Initiatives
Alternatively, specific proposals that are limited in scope, such as an explainer video, infographic design, etc. have a single, or single set, of clearly defined deliverables that mark the end of a proposal.
How/Who evaluates my proposals?
This current process is temporary until DAC tools are fully enabled. In the future, the goal (at the time of this writing) is to have an elected board of individuals who can authorize approvals and payments of worker proposals on an ongoing basis through on-chain governenace of FIO Token holders
Currently, worker proposals are evaluated by a non-elected group designated by the Foundation. All proposals that require some form of payment should be placed into the worker proposal queue, which is the sole repository that the Foundation will evaluate through.
